Posturing Voltage Rescheduling

Overview
Postured Voltage Rescheduling Control is performed on the generators in a composite control region at a sufficient control level to prevent voltage instability for all of the contingencies that affect one or more loadpockets. This tool can be used to design Under Voltage Capacitor Protection to take action when the voltages produced at the point of non solution are above a certain threshold for contingencies associated with voltage instability in these loadpockets.

Structural
  • Performs voltage rescheduling for the most severe contingencies that produce the largest load pockets and control regions which will arrest instability in the majority of the less severe contingencies
More Comprehensive
  • Postured Control reduces the total number of unique controls needed to mitigate a majority of the critical contingencies from several hundred down to a manageable number
